I also try to have projects to do while we watch to keep Kiran busy and because the kid LOVES any "project"! So, today we made a Thankful Tree for Thanksgiving. We cut a tree out of an old box (I have to say I impressed myself with the 3D tree!) and Kiran cut out leaves out of foam sheets to write what we're thankful for. He got impatient and had to write his name and one thing his was thankful for on the tree trunk. In case you can't read the preschool writing - Kiran is thankful for glue!
Here's our finished tree. Kiran thought of one more thing he wanted to write on it...he's thankful for his little chair. This was in addition to the things he came up with earlier including his little table, crayons, costumes, puzzles, and cutting.
And at the end of the day, we have our typical Sunday disaster in the family room/dining area. But Kiran was having fun and was hard at work at his little table. He takes everything very seriously and takes every opportunity to "collect information" and write it all down. We're doing a lot of spelling words out for him lately and find countless sheets of paper filled with the letters/words he's been "working" on.
great post! He and Clark are kindred spirits!
