We had a rough night last night!! Kiran was rough-housing with Nishu and slipped, doing a header right into the stair rail. He immediately had a good bruise and goose egg on his forehead. And, oh, did he cry! He didn't even cry this hard when he broke his arm. Of course, having taken a hit to his head that hard I didn't want him to go to sleep, so we let him stay up extra late and watch movies. I have to admit, I really loved all the cuddle time. He curled up with me on the couch with an ice pack on his forehead and watched Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (which we just finished reading, so it was fun!). Being a neurotic mom, I also woke him up twice during the night to make sure he was alright, but by morning the bruise is gone and there's barely evidence that he hit his head at all. Just a tiny little bump left. We're happy about that. Both Nishu and I were afraid he'd have a big bump/bruise for days!
Mister smarty pants, of course, is trying to milk this for all it's worth. He woke up this morning whining, "I don't want to go to school with a hurtin' head!" We gave him some motrin and I let him spike his hair with the green hair gel I got for him when he got his hair cut last, which seemed to satisfy him. He was quite proud of his "Billie Joe" look. He even wore a matching green shirt and listened to some good, old school rap this morning to go along with his Run DMC shirt.
