Congratulations, Nishu!!

We headed up to Wisconsin for a very special weekend! Nishu received an Outstanding Alumnus Award from the Industrial Engineering Department at UWM (Sorry, if I'm embarrassing you, but we're very proud!). We got to hang out in Fond du Lac Friday night, then headed back up to Brookfield on Saturday and attended the Awards Banquet at UWM on Saturday night. It was really nice and such an honor for Nishu! Anyway, we took an abundance of pictures!

On the way! Kiran just had to watch Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on the drive.

We had quite a crew there to cheer for Nishu!

It was nice to be able to get some family shots, since Nishu/I didn't have to be the one taking pictures the whole night.

Avi got a little time with his chacha. And when I say "a little time" I mean it...that guy has some very important business to attend to in Madison, so we didn't see Ajay for long! Ha!

Nishu was introduced by his former professor, Dr. Garg.

Avi was very proud of his papa, too. He even refrained from drooling all over his suit.

Being silly with Bua...and drinking Sprite! Hey, it was a special occassion!

More silliness!

Kiran and Avi were VERY well-behaved the entire night. We were really proud of our good boys! Of course, I had some tricks up my sleeve to keep Kiran happy. Superheros and Transformer coloring books - what 4 year old wouldn't be happy??

And little Mr. Avi spent much of night sleeping.

Yum!
And still more silliness!

Even more...

Nishu walking up to receive his award.

Dr. Garg gave a very nice introduction, while Nishu had to stand there awkwardly listening to how great he is. It was rough.

Kiran sat at the table watching and listening intently. It was very sweet!

Nishu said a few words in accepting the award...short and sweet.
KSA generously gave a donation to the department, so Nishu's dad said a few words as well.
And, again, Kiran watched intently with Dadi and Nani.

And he had a big hug for him when he came off the stage.

He thought the plaque was pretty cool, too!

It all ran way past Avi's bedtime, so he changed into his jammies and was having fun chatting with his Bua and Dadaji.
Picture time! Hence the cheesy smile!

Dessert was a big hit and now we know...Kiran is a BIG fan of chocolate covered strawberries!!
Chillin' with Nanaji.
