It's hard to believe that it's been three months already. Then again, it's hard to remember a time that Avi wasn't in our lives. It's funny how that works, isn't it?? Well he's a quarter of year old...He's such a happy little boy. He's been sleeping in his crib since he came home and is napping nicely for 2-3 nice long naps each day, which is nice for me! I can get some work done. His giggle is priceless, but he's a bit stingy. He LOVES his big brother, Kiran Bhaiya, and always has smiles for him. He HATES tummy time - loves to display his strength by standing and sitting well (if he's supported otherwise he tips over) - but he usually wails if we try to put him on his belly. He finds his hand as quickly as he can and sucks on that instead of pushing up and lifting his head. Stinker! In many ways Avi is so much like Kiran...he looks like him, loves bathtime, has the same laid back, pleasant demeanor, is a good sleeper, is totally indifferent to Finley, seems to adapt to any glitches in his schedule, and is already a mama's boy. But in other ways he is very much his own person...he won't take a pacifier as he prefers to suck on his fist, he seems to be determined to grow bigger faster than Kiran did, he looks a bit more like his papa, he has an incredibly strong startle response (much to his detriment given his noise big brothers - Kiran and Finley!), and he prefers his crib to the swing or papasan.
It's bittersweet...I'm sad my baby isn't a newborn anymore but can't wait to watch the little man he grows into and to see the many other ways in which he and Kiran are alike and how they carve out their individuality.
