Humbled by a 3 year old!

Kiran got a scrape on his elbow at school yesterday. Nothing major, but it did require 2 bandaids (in a cross pattern). You can imagine how traumatic it was a bathtime to have to remove the bandaids. But I promised him that when he was done in the tub we would put medicine (aka neosporin) and 2 more bandaids on his injury. And, of course, I followed through with that promise. As he was getting out of the tub I had the neosporin and the bandaids all ready. I said, "Okay, Dr. Mama's going to fix you all up." You'd have thought that was the funniest thing anyone ever said. Kiran replied with giggles and, "You're not a doctor. You're just pretending." So, I told him, "Well, I'm not that kind of doctor, but I am Dr. Mama." Again, hysterics from Kiran...All those years of hardwork to get my Ph.D. and just like from the rest of the world I get, "You're not a 'real' doctor, mama!" from my 3 -year-old...nice!
