The second landmark is a church just across the road from our subdivision. Now, since we aren't church (or temple) goers, Kiran doesn't know what a church is....so he calls it our "home castle." It cracks me up everytime. He gets very excited to see our "home castle" because that means we're home. Occassionally we'll come home from the other direction and we don't drive past the church...eventually I'll learn not to drive that way because he gets upset everytime we pull up to the house without having first seen the "home castle."
Other fun facts from the last few days...Kiran has learned to shrug his shoulders rather than speaking. So, now he really looks like he's 3 going on 13 when you ask him a question and rather than saying, "I don't know" he just shrugs his shoulders! We've spent the last couple days doing Easter "projects" (e.g., sticking easter stickers on poster board), finding treasures under the couch, playing with money, and spending some time "watering" outside this afternoon (it was 74 degrees!). He sprayed the car and the driveway, stating that "The sidewalk will grow now because I watered it." Here are some pics:
Easter Project (we're starting early!)
Counting the sticker's he's put on the poster board.
What a mess...who do you think cleaned this up?
He seems a little skeptical...perhaps we didn't build a structurally sound house??
Hmmm, what can I find under the couch?
He loves to play with his pretend money...this Melissa & Doug money looks so real, though! I have to make sure I don't leave any in my pockets when we're playing. I'm always afraid I'll actually try to pay for something with fake money!
Please excuse the bright orange pants...they were daycare spares that he had to change into after some "intense water play" at daycare today.
