Some pics from the weekend

Kiran getting a tattoo at a booth at the Farmer's Market.

Showing off his new tattoo!

Hiding under his Brewer's cap!

Getting a ride through the Farmer's Market.

Kiran could have watched these two play all day...they are really good!

He loves to play on the benches.

Just chillin' out...

Playing near the water fountain...too bad the water isn't flowing yet.

Back at home...planting flowers and some herbs!

Enjoying a popsicle on a hot day.

Being silly with mama, wearing our 3D glasses.

A true Wisconsinite!

His cheesiest Cheesehead smile!

Break dancing & Playing the "Banjo"

We had a picnic on campus on Saturday near where some students had set up a tent, some speakers, and a dance floor. So, we spent lunch watching them breakdance...Kiran picked up some moves.

Although he has lots of "real" instruments, his favorite is still his homemade banjo...aka, a frying pan (from his play kitchen) attached to him with a ridiculous monkey and banana necklace!

A couple more...

Meeting Dora!! So exciting...notice he goes straight for her backpack!

Having fun in the bounce house.

A few videos...well, okay, only 2...more to come!

Here's Kiran opening his package that arrived from Nani

And, introducing....Captain Moody!

A good day.

I always ask Kiran on the way home from daycare if he had a good day. Most days he finds a reason that is was NOT a good day...he fell, someone stepped on his foot, etc. Today when I asked he said, "Yeah, it was a good day! I didn't hurt myself...Somebody nelse (yes, he says nelse) didn't hurt myself..." I couldn't help but laugh.

On the same drive a Green Day song came on. Kiran has a bit of a man-crush (if you can have a man-crush at the age of 3) on Billy Joe but he has a hard time remembering his name. So, he asked me, "Who's that guy with the spikey hair?" I told him it was Billy Joe. He said, "Yeah, Billy Joe. I like him, he sings good songs."

We had fun time after we got home playing with new playdoh, watching the Backyardigans, and bathtime. Bedtime was a struggle for a while the past couple of weeks, but Nishu brilliantly got out an old MP3 player and we turn on some music when we're done telling stories. Works like a charm...he's gone down like an angel without all the stall tactics since we gave him the MP3 player. And he's quite proud of it - he's learned how to turn it on and off by himself...

A new favorite game.

Kiran's new favorite game to pretend that he and I are brother and sister. So, everything he says to me ends in "sister" and I have to constantly call him brother. It's very funny and very sweet.

Today he and Nishu were riding bikes in front of the house while I was making dinner. I opened the door and shouted, "Hey, who are these hoodlums in my front yard?" Kiran said, "Well, you are part of this family, too...that's why we're in your yard!" Such a sweetie!

Too smart for his papa's bribes!

Kiran was working on a puzzle on Sunday and wanted help. Nishu was trying to encourage him to finish it himself, so he told Kiran that if he did it himself he could have a hershey kiss. Well, Kiran has a little container full of hershey kisses in his play kitchen microwave (It's very cute, he only gets one when he has permission), so he told Nishu, "I'll get myself a harshey (yes, that's how he says it) kiss...I have hundreds!" I was glad I was in the other room, so he didn't see me laughing!

Ahhh, spring weather at last!

We had such a beautiful day today...and we packed in a lot!! We went to the farmer's market, got Kiran a much needed haircut, went to a "celebrate families festival" in town, spent a couple of hours exploring Columbus, Indiana, and drove through a beautiful park in Brown County. Such a fun day...here's lots of pics!

Admiring the flowers at the Farmer's Market.

Showing off his new 'do.

The Festival was so much fun! And our daycare had the best booth...Kiran played with Playdoh, bubbles, and had lots of fun with cornstarch and water...who knew?

So excited to meet Sparky the fire dog!

There was also a Pirate Band...could they be any cooler??

Waiting in line for the bounce house!

Fun, fun, fun!

So much fun on the tire swing!

Reading his Turtle magazine on the way to Columbus. When did he get so big??

Climbing on the big 'C's in Columbus was definitely a highlight!

Outside the public library.

Chilling out outside the Irwin Gardens in Columbus...it was so beautiful!!

Checking out the view...

Captain Moody!!

This is how Kiran went to daycare on Friday...he just had to wear his eye-patch, so he could be Captain Moody (from a Backyardigans episode). Pretty funny!

A child of the digital age!

Kiran had peas on his plate for dinner tonight, which inspired a conversation about what other vegetables are green.

Kiran: What other veggies are green?
Me: Broccoli
K: Green beans....and ipods.
Me: Ipods?
K: Yeah, those ones what have peas in them...ipods.

Pretty funny that the ipod is so omnipresent that my child is confusing peapods for ipods!

Missing his chacha

We've been telling stories about our trip to India before bedtime lately. So, tonight I thought since we finally booked tickets to visit Nishu's brother (chacha to Kiran) in Australia that it would be nice to tell a story about going to Australia instead. I started by saying how much we miss chacha and really wanted to visit. Very quickly, I was interrupted by a tearful Kiran saying, "Mama, I'm starting to get sad." So, I sped the story up telling tales of seeing the ocean and kangaroos while we visit chacha. Kiran was tearful and sad until the end of the story and then insisted that we go to Australia "RIGHT NOW!" I guess maybe I jumped the gun...I hope the kid can manage for another month!!

A fun weekend with Dadaji and Dadi!

Hanging out on Kirkwood.

Fun at an old train station...he ran back and forth, back and forth re-enacting the "Master of Disguise" episode of the Backyardigans. Sometimes he was the Master of Disguise and other times he was "Inspectio (that should be inspector) Austin of the Paris Police" chasing his papa/dada, the Master of Disguise. So funny!

Walking around campus.

Yum...Pizza!!

Testing out his new computer...and snacking on some mini-m&m's.

Just being silly...notice all of his "friend" on the stairs behind him. We built lots of K'nex robots that found homes on the stairs.

More of our stroll through campus.

Playing Memory with Dadaji and Dadi. Kiran is already exhibiting his papa's tendency to cheat. Uh oh!

Nishu and his dad having fun playing Wii Sports.
